As a human being I can't help loving food.Different countries, cultures or even city's have their own specialty's. London or Britisch cuisine isn't an exception. The British people are quite famous for their quite extraordinary food choices. A very popular dish in Britain is fish and chips, an urban way of eating your fries with fish, wrapped in a newspaper and seasoned with salt and malt vinegar.
Next to to that dish, the Brits are worldly praised for their high tea concept. High tea or as the Brits like to call it 'afternoon tea' or 'low tea' is a tea drinking get together that knows a couple of stages with their own special rituals and manners.
"The simplest form of afternoon tea is cream tea -- a meal of tea, scones and cream. Add fresh strawberries to cream tea and you have strawberry tea. Alternately, if you add more sweets to cream tea, you get light tea. Add savory foods, like finger sandwiches to light tea and you get full tea, which is the elaborate meal most people think of when they hear the phrase 'afternoon tea.'

I love how the London underground scene has it's own style. The youth in London knows how to differentiate themselves from others with their apparel. What started in the 80s as a punk movement has evolved but, didn't loose it's young and unique characteristics, something that even now is seen back in their outfits.

It's almost unbelievable that 2.7 million tube journeys are made daily on the tube in London. I think a lot of people will recognize the white red and blue signs that mark a Tube entrance.

This underground lifeline of London connects, making it possible to shop go where-ever you want to go in London as fast as possible. Though the tube is referred to as an underground transport system almost 60% of the London Underground is in reality above the ground and not underground.

As a fashion lover and fashion student, Harrods with it's 5-acre (something around 20,000 m2) selling space makes my heart beat so fast, it stops. The department store that can proudly crown itself the biggest department store of Europe, is world famous for it's Christmas department, the Food Hall and the (often expensive) quality products they sell. The department store has over 300 departments. Enough to suit almost every shopping budget. It's the place to do some serious window shopping in London.

As a legit Vintage lover. Vintage shopping must be on this list. Every city has it's own vintage history and vintage shops. Some are better than other and some cities are better off without one. The city of London was one of the first to have regular fairs that were specifically created for Vintage lovers to buy some nice vintage clothing. One of the most popular fairs in london is Frock Me!. Next to the fairs London is lucky to have quite some high quality Vintage shops.

  6. Great post, this really makes me wanna visit London :) I've seen everyone compliment London street style, and that's something I would love to see myself. I've heard that London has amazing flea markets/thrift stores - is that the same as vintage shops that you talk about? I would love to visit simply for them. Finland has so lame flea markets :P xoxo
